Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question click here and see if we have an answer for your question.
Arrive
You need to arrive an hour BEFORE your muddy, foamy, wave starts to allow enough time to get registered, scope out the mud, and soak in the awesome atmosphere. If you are one of those chronically late people, tell yourself you need to be there 2 hours early.
What to bring
First off bring your friends and family—or anyone else who needs proof of your mud run and obstacle course skills or someone who needs a demonstration of your mud flinging abilities. Don't forget your mud money for parking and fun! You should probably bring a towel and some extra clothes because your clothes will get muddy and wet, but you probably already guessed this. If you forget your game face, then you're FOL (Foam Outta Luck).

Also, please bring your signed and printed waiver (as well as signed and printed waivers for any teammates' bibs you're picking up) to packet pickup!  We cannot release bibs without a signed waiverfor each participant.  There is a charge for replacements at bib pickup if you forget! (If you've lost your waiver, you can download a new one on the race location information page by scrolling down to where it says "waiver" and clicking the link.)
Waiver
Make sure to bring a copy of the waiver signed by you to the race. If you dont have a copy of the waiverclick here to download it and then print it off and sign it. If you do not bring the waiver, it will be $1 day of race to receive the waiver.
BIB Pickup
Pick up your bib on race day! Be sure to come at least ONE HOUR early to avoid lines! T-shirts and medals will be handed out at the finish line. OR you can come Friday September 20 From 12pm-6pm.We will be at Road Runner Sports:

Gear Check In
Try and leave as much stuff as you can at home or in your car— but for the stuff you can't leave behind, or that you don't want covered in mud and foam, we will have a secure place to check in your gear. Please note that we do not accept children at the gear check-in.
What to wear?
We said "Adventure Run" right? Well folks let's get adventurous! Anything goes as long as you wear some clothes. You will be running in foam, mud and water so you'll want something that can get muddy, foamy and that allows you the freedom to move and groove. Costumes are the coolest and come with their own list of pros, so choose but choose wisely my friends.
What do I get?
For starters, yes, you will be getting so much more than the already rad 5K Foam Fest FREE Race T-shirt. You get the chance to win prizes. Also, take advantage of our nearly endless supply of FREE (temporary) tattoos—so you can get all tatted up for the day. Ace in the hole, and then a GOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!!!!!! ! Athletes

Erin Holloway

Erin Holloway is a multi-sport athlete with Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO). She, like many of our athletes, had a very challenging time in school when she was young. The other children would bully and tease her, so she grew out her hair to cover her face and kept to herself. She felt like she had no friends and spent all of her free time alone in her room. She hid from the world to avoid people who called her “stupid” and “retarded.” The words she heard too many times burned inside her mind, “I am stupid and never going to be anything.” Shame was the biggest feeling Erin felt.

It was when Erin’s only friend from school convinced her to attend a SOCO swimming event that things started to change for her. Although reluctant to attend the event, she went and had a great time. Feelings of friendship, inclusion, and fun overwhelmed Erin for the first time. She began swimming twice a week, year round.

Erin has since been involved with SOCO for over 30 years, competing in six different sports before finally settling on golf and equestrian as her favorites. In addition to winning over hundreds of medals, Erin was the first Special Olympics Athlete inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. Erin has traveled the world as a thriving athlete, public spokesperson, a Global Messenger. In Erin’s words, “Even though I have won more than 100 different medals, the most important award I have received from Special Olympics Colorado is pride and self-worth.” It is the intangible “awards” our athletes receive that really matter most to each of them.

Erin now works full time at Safeway and part-time at United Airlines for a total of 60 hours a week. She lives on a farm near Strasburg where she loves to train horses, including her own. Erin’s success story demonstrates the impact and life transformation that can come from the Special Olympics experience.
